Video: Check Out Barry Clemons’ 1964 Ford Fairlane

The Holley Hot Rod Reunion is the venue to see the nations best hot rods. An attendee since the debut of the very first Holley Hot Rod Reunion, Barry Clemons, who usually keeps his cars in rotation to bring to the show, brought his eye catching 1964 Ford Fairlane.

The bumper reads no bottle, no blower, and no bull and from the looks of the car, nothing could be further from the truth. This nostalgic street/strip car features an all fiberglass front end, a 302 CI engine backed by a C4 transmission, and a paint and lettering job done by a custom motorcycle painter out of California named Jack Lemon.

Clemons’ infatuation with cars started in the ‘70s when he was growing up. He and his friends would build model cars or gassers. By the ‘80s his car collection started with a Boss 302 Mustang and developed to a range of muscle cars from the big 3 American manufactures. His love for cars also led Clemons to the drag strip, a favorite past time of his for about 10 years or so. However, his Fairlane has only seen one pass with him behind the wheel. Although he was nervous because it was the first time down the track in 18 years, it was an experience that has inspired him to consider a return to the race scene.

The Holley Hot Rod Reunions benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and have been held across the country for the past 16 years. The support received by the race and show participants and attendees allow the museum to continue to preserve the nations automotive history,. Enthusiasts like Barry Clemons are the backbone of the event and are doing service not only to the museum but to true car lovers across America by bringing their cars for others to admire.
