When one thinks of custom hot rods and street rods, you typically picture a ’32-34 Flathead Ford, maybe an early ’40s Willys coupe with a small-block Chevy, or a ’55 Chevy. With the LS swap craze well past its infancy, it should come to no shock to see one nestled between the fenders of just about anything at this point.
What you seldom see, is a 416-cubic inch LSX, Roots-style, 8-71 BDS blown, chromed out and shoved into a ’34 Ford pickup. It was bound to happen, but not in the way that Ben Coffman pulled it off.
What started out as a restored, bone stock ’34 Ford pickup, the owner requested that Ben the maintain the truck’s factory frame. However that’s where the similarities from stock to what it is today leaves off.
In addition to the insane powerplant under the hood, this ’34 Ford is also equipped with a Holley EFI Dominator ECU and injectors. Sitting behind the 416 is a 4L80E transmission.
The bodywork includes the ’32 grille shell, custom-fabricated trim, brackets and a custom shade of green hue. Ben credits Holley Performance for all of their help and support of the project, and is quite the LS Fest enthusiast!
