It may be hard to believe, but the eight-generation Corvette has been running the streets for nearly two years. In that time, bolt-on performance and styling upgrades have been hitting the online retailers and part shelves in droves. This year, at the 2021 SEMA Show, there was plenty of new products on display for the C8 and there won’t be any slowing down any time soon.
If you’re looking for more serious upgrades, such as those that provide additional horsepower increases through boost, there are a few turbocharger upgrades and even a new Roots-type supercharger on the market, or about to be as of this writing. But as of today, there’s now a centrifugal supercharger hot off of the mills, and it’s from ProCharger.
ProCharger has been adding boost to factory fresh Corvettes for over 25 years, and despite the C8’s rear mid-engine layout, it didn’t deter them at all. In fact, they have two in-house test mules at their disposal, and have implemented early prototype kits to a few private owners as well.
After nearly two years of R&D on these vehicles, ProCharger is now ready to send these unit out the door. In the attached video, ProCharger’s Erik Radzins walks us through the details and the performance gains found through their centrifugal supercharger kit. We can elaborate oi the horsepower gains, improvements in quarter-mile times and the overall experience, but we’ll let the attached video above provide you with that information.
