Colin Kinser is the Project Manager at Holley EFI and he has one mean, made over LS swapped Fox Body Mustang. There’s hardly a single part or bolt on Colin’s car that has not yet been totally overhauled. When he bought the Fox Body Mustang a few years ago for $7,000, he sold the 306 small black engine and then turned around and put all of that money right back into improving and overhauling all part of the Mustang. The Bight Calypso Green painted body is pretty much the only thing that has remained the same over the years.
Colin first saw the car in Georgia for sale ad, and knew he had to have it since he’s wanted a Fox Body since he was only nine years old. Him and his friend left Kentucky to Georgia to grab it up. Known as Project Rabid Fox, the Mustang is a car Colin always wanted to get his hands on. He recently came off the 2018 Hot Rod Power Tour, an event he joined the day after installing the car’s blower.
This LS swapped 1992 Mustang project has a 5.3-liter engine with Holley Dominator EFI system, K1 connecting rods, custom Wiseco pistons, TEA 2200cc cathedral-port heads, BTR camshaft, and Sniper EFI race intake. It has a Holley fuel system that includes an ARCA HydraMat fuel reservoir, externally mounted VR1 pump, 460 GPH filter, pressure regulator, and Earl’s -10AN Ultra Pro Feed plumbing. Backing the engine is an American Powertrain TKO Extreme transmission with Hydramax clutch conversion. The drivetrain feeds into a 8.8 Ford rearend with 3.31:1 Ford Racing rear gearing.
The suspension is totally overhauled with 1.5″ forward-offset front control arms, XL series subframe connectors, coilover conversions done on the front and rear, Bilstein HD struts and shocks, adjustable sway bars, a bump steer kit, and a heavy duty torque arm and panhard bar from Maximum Motorsports — to name a few things. The car has gone as quick as 12.63-seconds at 118-mph in the quarter-mile.
