Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is a Drag Strip Special

Dodge just announced a new 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 option that joins Dodge’s spree of adding even more high performance options to the Challenger line. The new trim level is a lightweight, drag strip orientated trim level of the Dodge Challenger R/T. This naturally aspirated, narrow bodied car is basically a variant of the Challenger Demon, which name pays homage to the number of feet in a quarter mile with the 1320 designation.

The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is car that puts out 485 horsepower from a naturally aspirated 485 horsepower, 6.4L V8 that makes the car capable of reaching 60 miles per house in only 3.8 seconds — it can also cover the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds. Dodge is claiming that this is the quickest naturally aspirated production muscle car on the market today.

Same as the Dodge Hellcat Redeye car, the Dodge R/T Scat Pack 1320 borrows a lot of its nature from the Challenger Demon. Directly lifted from the Demon is the adaptive dampers with a mode to help transfer weight to the rear axle while it’s launching, a trans brake that locks the transmission at the starting line, and a computer controlled ignition timing system known as torque reserve.

Naturally, it’s also equipped with the line lock feature that allows the driver to do smokey burnouts to preheat the car’s tires. Also from the Demon, the Dodge R/T Scat Pack 1320 is getting upgrade half shafts. It will roll on Nexen street legal drag radials and comes with only one seat standard, but you can opt for the passenger and rear seats for an additional $1 each.

The 1320 version of the Challenger is similar to the narrow body Hellcat, in terms of the looks department It has the same vent and scoop hood and larger trunk spoiler, but a different grille and “1320” bumblebee badging to give it away.
